Meet Our Teachers
Rick Williams
Rick has been teaching guitar, mandolin,
and bass for nearly 20 years and has also played
professionally in the Tulsa area
for most of that time. He is proficient in bluegrass
flatpicking, finger-style, blues, rock, country, folk
and gospel styles. Recently, Running Dogs Publishing LLC published his first 2
instructional books with CD's, "Jam Tunes" for Bluegrass
Guitar and Mandolin. These are of course available at
Guitar House of Tulsa or can be purchased online at
www.bluegrassbooksonline.com
Rick places a big emphasis on
understanding your instrument and what you're playing.
Roy Hood
Roy has been teaching 5 string banjo for
about 12 years and excels at both melodic and "Scruggs"
styles. His musical styles range from bluegrass, and
country to traditional gospel. He is very active in the
music program of his church and is often called upon to
fill in for various local bands in need of a banjo
player.
Paul Karleskint
Paul is Now Offering
Ukulele Instruction!
Paul has taught guitar and bass for over
8 years and holds an Associates Degree in Music from
Tulsa Community College. In a non-stop effort to expand
his knowledge and skills he has attended both
Northeastern Oklahoma A & M and Northeastern State
University. Paul has outstanding abilities in nearly all
styles of popular music and is one of very few who can
work with a student on jazz improvisation. He has had
the good fortune to share the stage with diverse acts as
David Grisman, Wynton Marsalis, Junior Brown, Cracker,
The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and many others. Paul has
developed the unique ability to share these experiences
with his students so they can discover their own musical
direction. Paul is still pursuing his college degree and
playing professionally with his own group.
Cory Reynolds
Cory has been part of our instructional
team for over 6 years, teaching guitar and bass. He
teaches all styles, but leans more toward blues, rock,
finger-style and slide. He began playing professionally
in 1995 and started his teaching career in 2000. Cory is
an exceptionally patient teacher and continues to grow
as a performer and instructor. His band, "Crossland", is all over the Tulsa area and rarely without a
place to play. |
